About Backwater Blues
We’re BACK! Backwater Blues is back February 14-16, 2020 and we’re going to be bringing ALL the Ballroomin’ Blues (and sweet tea) your body can handle!
What's going on?
We really love the family atmosphere we have here in Huntsville, and we channel that into small group learning for the workshop portion of the event! What does this mean for you, as a participant? It means that we’re going to group all participants into 6 pods of 16 dancers, matched along learning styles, experience, and dance goals! Your pods will rotate among our 6 PHENOMENAL instructors, and you’ll spend over an hour with each of them! This will enable each of them to cater to your specific questions and needs as a dancer, and help you focus on your growth while bonding with your pod all weekend! We know this is a big change, and you have questions, so check out some answers below!
Q: Will I get to take classes with all 6 instructors?
A: YES! They’ll each have their own lesson planned for YOUR group and reach out to YOU on a personal level due to the small group size and joint goals within your pod.
Q: Who are these 6 instructors?
A: Like our page and watch it throughout the month of October to find out!
Q: How will we be grouped into these pods for the weekend?
A: Registrants will be sent a brief survey AT REGISTRATION TIME to help align you with other dancers with a similar experience level, learning style, and goals for the weekend!
Q: Does this mean I get to sleep in on Saturday and not have to do a level check that weekend?
A: IT SURE DOES!!!!!!
Q: I missed out on registration and still want to attend. What do I do?
A: We'll open up a waitlist if registration fills up. When you register for a dance pass, you'll be asked if you'd like to upgrade to a full weekend pass. Last year, we handled 10 pass transfers, so there's still a good chance you'll be able to get your full weekend pass!
Q: I have another question that wasn’t answered here!
A: That’s not a question, per se, but I get your gist. Check out the website to see if we answered your question there, and if you can’t find it there, ask it here, and we’ll be sure to get you all the information we can!
So SET YOUR CLOCKS because registration opens at 7:00PM Central on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 27th!
